Insulclad ( Europe ) Ltd has been in existence since February 2002, having purchased the assets of Insulclad UK Ltd., a refurbishment business that had been trading since March 2000.
The company offers a variety of specialist activities, either on a Main Contract or Sub-Contract basis and carries out the following trades:
- Insulated render systems
- Concrete repairs and coating
- Brick stabilisation and wall ties
- General external refurbishment
Turnover for the financial year ending Jan 2007 was £4,474,000 the majority of which was from the supply and installation of external insulated render systems to existing high-rise social housing stock and new build luxury apartments and dwellings . Projected turnover for the current financial year, February 2007 - January 2008 is £5.7M. Turnover for the financial year ending January 09 is forecast at £7.5M, which is largely based on the companies' involvement on Glasgow where the high rise social housing stock is being upgraded by Glasgow housing association.
The company is currently the UK 's largest installer of Dryvit UK Ltd's insulated render systems and is involved on a number of projects, both on existing and new-build structures where there is a requirement to both enhance the appearance of an existing structure and significantly increase the thermal insulation properties of the building.
Of particular potential interest is the increased use by new-build designers of lightweight steel framed external support structures (S.F.S.), in combination with sheathing boards and insulated render systems. This method of construction offers new-build housing contractors a quick, lightweight and highly insulated method of cladding, either steel or concrete framed buildings.
Based on secured and potential new-build projects, the company's projected turnover for the current financial year (Feb 2005 to Jan 2006) is set at £4,100,000, a significant increase in comparison to current workload.
The company employs a nucleus of experienced, directly employed operatives that are supplemented by additional trained labour-only tradesmen, as workload dictates. Experienced site foremen who have all worked in the refurbishment sector of the industry for many years, carry out supervision.
The company's business philosophy is to offer a professional and competitive service, built on personal relationships & repeat business.
The directors of the company, Mike Crompton and Mike Gibbs, are both experienced construction managers with a combined service in excess of 65 years in the construction industry, the latter 30 years having been spent in the refurbishment sector.
Their initial experience in refurbishment was gained in the 1970's, when concrete repairs began to develop into a specialist trade in it's own right, culminating in Mike Gibbs serving as Deputy Chairman of the Concrete Repair Association for one year and as Chairman for two years, between 1998 and 2000.
Since forming Insulclad, the directors have concentrated on developing the insulated render side of the business, in particular their relationship with Dryvit UK Ltd, with which they have formed a “partnership” approach to projects, offering potential clients specification and budgeting advice at pre-tender stage, to assist in cost planning.
Latterly, the company has also developed a strong link with Lindab Ltd with whom it is carrying out supply and installation of their lightweight steel framed systems, as described earlier.
To summarise, Insulclad offers a range of specialist construction services, a “partnership” approach to doing business and a wealth of practical experience.
